Harrison REMC is a member-owned electric cooperative headquartered in Corydon, Indiana. As a cooperative, Harrison REMC follows seven core principles that are universal to cooperatives worldwide. Among those principles is one stressing education, training and information. Indiana Connection, a monthly magazine published especially for Indiana’s electric cooperative members, is one way the REMC informs and educates its members. Indiana Connection is available not only in a print format, but as an electronic publication for those who prefer getting their information on their electronic devices.

Power line pruning — trimming for safety and reliability
Harrison REMC contractor Townsend Tree Service will clear rights-of-way along high-voltage power lines in 2026. Harrison REMC maintains a total of 2,685 miles of line, with approximately 390 miles scheduled for clearance this year. A reason to celebrate
The Hoosier Energy Apprenticeship Training & Safety (HEATS) program held its 2025 graduation ceremony on Oct. 17 in French Lick. It was the largest attendance at a graduation since 2022, when three years’ worth of graduates were honored due to COVID-19 restrictions. The 2025 ceremony had 60 graduates and 363 attendees.
