KREMC recently welcomed Noelle Thomas to the team as a media design specialist. We sat down with Noelle to learn more about her.

What brought you to work for KREMC?

Honestly, it was a combination of factors — I wanted a stable position that would allow me to pursue my passion for motion graphics and film, but I also wanted to work for a business that didn’t support consumerism. In my line of work, there are far too many positions that prioritize product sales over people. My goal was to use my skills to improve the community and make people’s lives better.

Can you share a bit about your prior work experience?

I have worked in the film industry for 14 years in various capacities. I began marketing for a Los Angeles sound stage and later produced videos for an airsoft company. Due to financial constraints, my spouse and I left California and relocated to the Midwest to be near my family. I landed a position as a film and animation professor at my alma mater, Huntington University, and I also had the privilege of serving as Lead Editor for Huntington University’s first-ever feature film, “Wayfaring Stranger”. My most recent job was as a Multi-Media Specialist at McMillen Health in Fort Wayne.

What are you most excited about when it comes to your new role?

I’m eager to learn about all of our new, fancy video equipment! Having so many resources at my disposal makes creating videos much easier and enhances the overall quality.

What have your first couple of weeks been like?

I’ve been learning so much in the first few weeks! Prior to this job, I had no knowledge about the concept of a co-op, so I have gained extensive insights into this industry and its marketing strategies. The people here are all so friendly, which really makes my job more fun!

What else would you like to share with us regarding your life outside of work?

The commute from Huntington is 45 minutes, so my husband and I have decided to make the move to Warsaw! We’re really looking forward to becoming a part of this community. When I have some free time, I love cooking, playing the piano, and traveling with my husband.
