At WIN Energy REMC, our mission is to provide safe, reliable electric service at the best value to our member- consumers while supporting the communities we serve. We understand our members expect the lights to stay on at a cost they can afford. We are committed to reliably and affordably powering our local communities.

Beyond routine maintenance and updates that improve the reliability of the electric system, we work behind the scenes in other ways to ensure our members needs are addressed. One of the ways we do this is through proactively engaging elected officials to ensure our members are well represented on state and national issues.

In April, I joined over 2,000 electric cooperative leaders from across the country, including 80 from Indiana, in Washington, D.C., for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Associations (NRECA) Legislative Conference. As an advocate for our cooperative, I had the pleasure of meeting with members of Indianas Congressional delegation to discuss key energy issues and priorities that impact our members.

On Capitol Hill, the topics of discussion included the importance of federal assistance for electric cooperatives in the case of natural disasters; the need for infrastructure programs that support new energy generation, strengthen the electric grid, and protect against cyber threats; and challenges around operational changes at the U.S. Postal Service that are impacting our members and our rural communities. Participating in the NRECA Legislative Conference reinforced how vital it is for WIN Energy REMC to stay engaged on issues that matter to you.

Everything we do, we do with our members and our mission in mind. By advocating for policies that support reliable and affordable electric service, we are working to protect the interests of our members and communities not just today, but for the future.
