At WIN Energy REMC, safety isnt just a priority; its our culture. Be Safe is one of our core values, the backbone of every decision we make and every action we take, from the crews in the field to the employees in our offices.
Our commitment to electrical safety extends far beyond our team its a shared responsibility we embrace as we serve our members and communities.
Electricity powers our homes, businesses, schools, and farms, but we must never forget that it can also pose serious dangers when not handled properly. Thats why safety must always come first. For our dedicated employees, this commitment means participating in monthly mandatory safety meetings. These sessions go beyond the basics. They reinforce life-saving protocols, provide hands-on training for various scenarios, and ensure every team member is equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to return home safely each night.

Our responsibility doesnt stop there. We believe that educating our community is just as important as protecting our employees. Throughout the year, we offer electrical safety demonstrations with our tabletop safety demonstration or the full-size live-line demonstration across our service area at schools, local organizations, and community events. These presentations are designed to be engaging and informative, helping children and adults alike understand the risks of electricity and how to stay safe around power lines, poles, and equipment.
We also constantly remind members to stay safe by treating all downed lines as live, keeping a safe distance from utility infrastructure, and calling us immediately if something seems unsafe. Whether trimming trees, digging in your yard, or simply noticing a safety hazard, your awareness could prevent a serious accident.
As your electric cooperative, we are proud to be your partner in safety.
If you are interested in having WIN Energy REMC present our safety demonstration, we would be happy to help! Together, we can ensure that electricity continues to be a powerful and safe part of our lives.
