KV REMC crews are dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of services for both residential and commercial needs. Here is what is happening this month:

LINE CONSTRUCTION

Our contracted crew is beginning a 7.5-mile rebuild that will interconnect the planned Four Corners Substation in Union Mills with the Arrow Substation in Knox. The project is scheduled to start in December and is expected to continue through mid-2026. Work will be visible along 1400 S. and Long Lane in LaPorte County, then along 1500 S. to Range Road in Starke County, and continuing to Brems.

TREE TRIMMING

KV REMC conducts year-round tree trimming, with a focus on the winter months to prevent power outages caused by storms. During this time, crews will trim trees near power lines, including those with limbs that could fall under the weight of snow and ice or those that could pose a threat.

Crews will be trimming in the following areas:

Porter County: Porter, Boone, Morgan, and Pleasant Townships

LaPorte County: Dewey Township

Starke County: Wayne, Railroad, and California Townships

Pulaski County: Cass, Franklin, Jefferson, Monroe, Rich Grove, and White Post Townships
