In mid-May, members will begin receiving voting materials for this year’s Annual Meeting. That ballot is one of the simplest and most important ways you take part in your cooperative.
Strong governance is what keeps your co-op focused, accountable, and moving in the right direction. Your board of directors helps guide that path by making thoughtful decisions that impact long-term planning, financial stability, rates, and the policies that shape how we operate.
Serving on the board takes time, preparation, and a real commitment to doing what is best for the membership. It is about looking ahead, asking good questions, and helping make sure the cooperative stays on solid ground.
Board candidates are selected by the nominating committee, which is also composed of fellow members. You will see those committee positions on your ballot. This structure keeps the process member-driven and representative of the membership. Thank you to those serving on the nominating committee for your work in bringing forward a strong group of candidates for this year’s election.
I also want to thank those currently serving on the board, as well as those who have chosen to run this year. Stepping forward to serve is not a small thing. It takes time, dedication, and a willingness to take on real responsibility.
This past year is a good reminder of why that matters. From storm recovery to managing rising costs, your board works alongside our team to make decisions that not only address today’s needs but also help to keep the co-op strong for the future.
When your ballot arrives, I encourage you to take a few minutes to review the candidates and cast your vote. It is a small step, but it plays an important role in how your cooperative moves forward.
We will announce the election results during our virtual Annual Meeting on June 16.
We encourage you to tune in at 7 p.m.
Thank you for voting and being part of your cooperative.
