DISTRICT 3

Danny Easterday is the incumbent director from District 3. A lifelong resident of Orange County, he has served on the board for the past 27 years. He has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director certification from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Easterday graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.

He and his wife, Lisa, reside near Orleans. They have five children and five grandchildren. In their spare time, he and Lisa enjoy traveling. An avid fisherman, Easterday likes to fish at his pond in Indiana and in the Gulf of Mexico near Venice, Florida.

Simon Sprigler is a District 3 director candidate by petition. He has lived near Orleans for the past 26 years with his wife, Wendy (Elliott). They have three children and three grandchildren.

He is employed by the town of Orleans as its town superintendent and building inspector. He oversees the daily operations of the town street department, sewer department, and water systems. Sprigler is also involved in the downtown area, helping to renovate and bring new businesses to the area. As building inspector, he works on code enforcements with the town attorney and is currently a member of the Board of Zoning and Planning.

Sprigler previously worked for 40 years as a general contractor for AML, Inc., located in Floyd Knobs, Indiana. As a jobsite superintendent, he was involved in jobs from the ground up until the projects were completed and delivered to the owners.

DISTRICT 6

Brian Hawkins is the District 6 incumbent director. A board member since 2003, he has served as secretary, vice president and president. The Paoli Jr. Sr. High School graduate formerly owned Wolfe Contracting, Inc., in Paoli.

Hawkins and his wife, Nanette, have lived in the Paoli and Greenfield communities for the past 35 years. They have one daughter, Megan, who teaches family and consumer science at Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg.

Born and raised in Orange County, Hawkins realizes he has an obligation, not only to the members within District 6 but all Orange County REMC members, to make sound business decisions. Therefore in 2007, just four years after he was elected to the REMC board, he completed the required courses to earn the Credentialed Cooperative Director certification

Hawkins is a member of Moores Ridge United Methodist Church and serves on the pastor parish relationship committee. He is a 13-year active member of the Paoli Meridian Lions Club. He also serves as an appointed representative of the Orange County Commissioners to the Paoli Planning Commission and is a member of the Town of Paoli Board of Zoning Appeals, representing the buffer zone membership. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, and working with his honey bees and cattle.

Lacy Deom is a candidate by petition and lives in Paoli with her husband, Brad, and two daughters, Kenzy and Janna. She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in Business in 2007. For the past 14 years, she has worked at Baxter Pharmaceuticals in Bloomington, working her way up through increasing roles of responsibility. She is currently a manager in technical services.

Deom grew up on a small horse and cattle farm in Perry County and has carried on that love of animals; now sharing her home with horses, rabbits, dogs and cats. She has been on the 4-H Horse and Pony committee for the past 10 years, and the Incorporated Board for the last three years. She is dedicated to making her home, and our community great places to live.
