Wind farm expansion to benefit co-ops

Renewable energy project located off of Interstate 65

Employees from Hoosier Energy and member cooperatives dedicated the Meadow Lake V wind farm purchase power agreement in October.

Hoosier Energy and Wabash Valley Power Association have entered into a 20-year purchase power agreement that will add 100 megawatts (MW) of energy from EDP Renewables’ Meadow Lake V wind farm for the benefit of rural electric cooperative members across the state.

Meadow Lake Wind Farm, which consists of five operational sections that flank Interstate 65 in northwestern Indiana, has been in operation since 2009.

The agreement will provide approximately 25 MW of energy annually in 2018 and an additional 50 MW in 2020 for Hoosier Energy’s cooperative member systems, bringing Hoosier Energy’s total wind generation to 100 MW.
