Camp Kilowatt

The application process is now open for Indiana Page Day, the Indiana Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, Camp Kilowatt, and Nesius Memorial Scholarships. The Cooperative Calendar of Student Art is accepting submissions. We also have a 4-H Electric incentive program. These opportunities are available to public, private, and home-school students who are sons, daughters, or legal wards of a Jasper County REMC member. Visit our website to fill out the applications.

Page Day with the Indiana Senate gives students an opportunity to learn about their state government and how bills become law. It is Jan. 28, 2025, and the application deadline is Jan. 7.

The Youth Tour is an educational, all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., available to current-year high school juniors. Travel dates are June 15-22, 2025. The application deadline is March 3.

Camp Kilowatt will be held June 4-7, 2025 at Camp Tecumseh YMCA Outdoor Center, located between Brookston and Delphi, Indiana. This camp experience is designed to educate current-year sixth graders about electrification, electric safety, and cooperative business principles. Jasper County REMC provides camp accommodations, food, and general activity expenses. The application deadline is March 3.

Indiana Connection and Indiana Electric Cooperatives hold an annual art contest for any Indiana students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The winning works from each grade are used to illustrate the Cooperative Calendar of Student Art that we distribute to our members every year. The submission deadline is Feb. 28.

The Bruce and Sharon Nesius Memorial Scholarship is an opportunity for high school seniors looking to further their education. A scholarship will be awarded to one successful candidate from KVHS, one from RCHS, and one from all other high schools/home schools in Jasper County REMC’s service territory. The application deadline is April 15.

4-H Electric builds confidence and life-long skills. If your son, daughter, or legal ward signs up for 4-H Electric and enters a project in the Jasper County Fair, we will provide a $20 bill credit after the fair.
