It is hard to believe that we are already getting into the holiday months. And with the quickly approaching holiday season, we know that many people are planning their holiday activities. With this in mind, I want to recap a few things that are going on at Harrison REMC.

Bus Trip

Since we are talking about the holidays, I want to mention our last bus trip of the year. Our final destination in 2017 will be our Dec. 1 trip to Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee. We will be leaving Corydon at 7:30 a.m. and returning around 8:30 p.m. The cost of the trip is $55. This trip is a great time, and you can finish up any last-minute shopping. Call the office at 812-738-4115 to sign up for the trip.

Santa’s Visit

Come by and get your picture taken with Santa! Santa will be at the REMC office on Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. A photo of each child will be available at no charge, and parents can bring a camera to take their own photo. We look forward to this event every year!

Lend a Hand

Members will receive an insert with their November bill about the Lend a Hand program. Lend a Hand is designed to help REMC members who are 150 percent below the poverty level pay their electric bill in times of need. Members can make a one-time or monthly donation on their bill. Through Harrison REMC, this money is then given to local community service agencies for distribution. Because Harrison REMC serves parts of five southern Indiana counties, contributions will be distributed in the county from which they were received. We want to thank the members who give so graciously every year. To sign up, flip to page 8.

Just a reminder that the REMC office will be closed on Nov. 23 and 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to wish all members and their families a happy Thanksgiving!
