LARRY EDWARDS

After 26 years, Larry Edwards, supervisor of engineering services, has retired from Clark County REMC.

Edwards started his career in 1997 as an energy auditor. In 2002, while also an energy advisor, he began working with businesses and key accounts. From there, he moved over to the engineering department, working with developers and with key accounts. In 2007, Edwards became the supervisor of engineering services. Edwards is excited to begin this new chapter of his life to be able to spend more time with his wife of 44 years, Cheri, his three daughters, his grandkids, and the rest of his family. He and his wife plan to travel and spend more time at their lake house.

Reflecting over his past 26 years, Edwards stated that what he liked most about his job was the freedom he had to make decisions and to solve problems that may come up on any given day. He also stated that he will miss working with the developers, businesses, members and his co-workers.

REMC thanks Edwards for his hard work, dedication and commitment to community. We wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life. Congratulations, Larry!

Neil Hopewood
NEIL HOPWOOD

Neil Hopwood started his career at REMC in 1988 at the Comfort Center just a few days after marrying his wife, Teresa.

At the REMC Comfort Center, he was a television helper and an HVAC apprentice before he became a meter reader. After several years as a meter reader, he applied for a position as a lineman apprentice and then became a journeyman lineman in 2002.

For the next 21 years, Hopwood used his skills to keep the lights on for his community and neighbors. He has enjoyed his time at REMC and will miss his co-workers but is happy to leave the daily work to others!

He is looking forward to retirement and plans to spend more time with his wife, his kids (Sarah and Tori (Ryan)), his three grandchildren and his family. He is looking forward to spending more time on the family farm, hunting for Native American artifacts and anything that comes his way.

REMC thanks Hopwood for his years of service and hard work, and we wish him all the best as he takes time to enjoy his family and hobbies. Congratulations, Neil!
