Apply for a scholarship

Applications are now available for high school seniors who will be attending a college/university in the counties of Floyd, Clark or Harrison in Indiana or Jefferson County in Kentucky. Harrison REMC provides scholarships to encourage our local youth to continue their education. The eligibility requirements for the REMC scholarships are as follows:

  • The applicant’s parent/guardian must be currently receiving electrical service from Harrison REMC.
  • The applicant must be a high school senior who has been accepted to attend a college/university located within the Indiana counties of Clark, Floyd or Harrison as well as Jefferson County in Kentucky for the 2017 fall semester as a full time student (12 credit hours) and have an SAT score on file.
  • One student from each participating high school will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship, payable to the education institution upon proof of enrollment.
  • A full-time or part-time employee, son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter or grandchild of the employee or director of Harrison REMC is ineligible.

The deadline for the application to be returned to the REMC office is March 30.

From the applications received, one student from each school will then be selected by a committee of REMC employees for the scholarship. Winner selection will be based on SAT test score, essay and overall scholastic achievement.

Applications for the scholarships have been sent to school guidance counselors. Interested students should check with their schools. Applications are also available at the REMC office and online at www.harrisonremc.com. If you have questions please call the office at 812-738-4115 or 812-951-2323.
