Members can receive rebates for energy efficiency upgrades

Harrison REMC’s incentive program will remain the same in 2018 with the exception of the heat pump water heater rebate. That rebate will now increase from $400 to $500. The REMC’s other rebate offers are listed below.

Air source heat pump, dual fuel,mini-split heat pump
  • Must provide 100 percent heating and cooling to the home
  • Units that do not qualify include window heat pumps; “through-the-wall” heat pumps (hotel-type machines); and MSHPs for only sunrooms, room additions or other small areas.
  • Traditional stick-built and modular housing — minimum 16 SEER rating
  • Manufactured housing — minimum 14 SEER rating
  • Single-speed compressor: no incentive
  • Dual/variable-speed compressor: $700 rebate
Heat pump, mini-split heat pump or Dual fuel replacing 100 percent electric resistance heat
  • Examples: electric furnace, electric baseboard, electric ceiling cable
  • Must provide 100 percent heating and cooling to home
  • Harrison REMC will verify unit is replacing whole-house electric resistance that used no supplemental heat.
  • Traditional stick-built and modular housing — minimum 16 SEER
  • Manufactured housing — minimum 14 SEER rating
  • Single-speed compressor heat pump: $750 rebate
  • Dual/variable-speed compressor heat pump: $1,450 rebate

Mobile/manufactured homes are defined as factory assembled; transportable; designed for transportation on own chassis; can be placed on temporary or permanent foundation; and are intended for year-round occupancy.

Note: Modular homes do not meet these requirements. Modular homes are considered residential single family homes. Mini-split systems in manufactured homes must be a minimum of 16 SEER.

Dual Fuel (Fossil Fuel furnace with heat pump)
  • Traditional stick-built and modular housing — minimum 16 SEER rating
  • Manufactured housing — minimum 14 SEER rating
  • Dual/variable-speed compressor: $1,000 rebate
Geothermal heat pump
  • Geothermal incentive ($1,450 rebate) requires a desuperheater installation in addition to geothermal systems only.
Water heating
  • Heat pump or hybrid water heaters (all in one units) with a minimum 40-gallon size: $500 rebate
  • No incentives for electric resistance tank water heaters or tankless water heaters.

Incentives are available for residential single family homes. This includes condominiums. Heating/cooling incentives are limited to two per home. Multi-family buildings are not considered single family homes. Rebates will be approved for residences that are occupied and only after the installation/completion of the eligible equipment/service. Harrison REMC reserves the right to determine eligibility of all rebate requests.
