When most people think of Heartland REMC, they think about electricity. That’s understandable. Providing safe, reliable, and affordable power has been our mission for generations.

But one of the things that makes electric cooperatives unique is that our purpose extends beyond delivering electricity. We are deeply invested in the communities we serve, and that commitment is reflected in the programs and initiatives that help improve the quality of life throughout our service territory.

Every year, Heartland REMC supports local students through our scholarship program, helping young people pursue their educational goals and invest in their future. We support local organizations through Operation Round Up, a member-funded program that recently surpassed an incredible milestone of $300,000 in grants awarded to community projects and nonprofits throughout our area.

We also partner with schools, economic development organizations, local governments, and community groups to help strengthen the places we call home. Whether it’s supporting youth programs like 4-H and FFA, assisting local charities, or investing in infrastructure that helps attract new opportunities to our communities, we believe our role is about more than keeping the lights on.

Throughout the year, our employees volunteer their time and talents to support community events and organizations. We are proud to be represented by employees who live, work, and raise their families in the same communities we serve.

As a cooperative, we are owned by the members we serve. That means every decision we make is guided by what’s best for our communities, not outside shareholders. When our communities succeed, Heartland succeeds.
