Meet Your Director Candidates

Exercise one of the greatest benefits of being a member of an electric co-op by voting for the upcoming year’s board of directors.

At the LaGrange County REMC Annual Meeting on June 8, you have the opportunity to vote for your board of directors. This year includes one contested race in District 3 and three uncontested races for incumbents in District 5, 6 and 7. Here are your candidates:

District 3

Tony Bontrager, who was recently appointed as District 3 director, works as the employee benefits consultant with RE Sutton & Associates, based in Carmel. He serves as a member on the LaGrange County Community Foundation Board and is on the leadership team at New Life Fellowship in Topeka. He and his wife, Lauren, have three children.

Dan Lovell is the retail store manager for Miller’s Food and Drug in LaGrange. He attends Brighton Chapel in Howe and is a member of Bair Lake Bible Camp. He and his wife, Molly, have three children and one grandchild.


District 5

Incumbent Director Shane Rasler is the owner of Rasler Insurance Services in LaGrange. Rasler holds his Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and is LaGrange County REMC’s representative on the Wabash Valley Power Association Board. He is a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church and the South Milford Lions Club. He and his wife, Stacie, have two children.


District 6

Director Jeff Brill has served on the LaGrange County Board since 2004 and currently serves as secretary. He is LaGrange County REMC’s representative on the Indiana Electric Cooperatives Board, has earned his Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate through NRECA and attended Board Leadership classes through IEC. He is a LaGrange County Councilman and is a member of the LaGrange County Trails Board. Brill is retired from the LaGrange County Highway Department. He and his wife, Donita, have one child.


District 7

Serving on the board since 2003, Roger Domer is the director-at-large and has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate and Board Leadership Certificate through NRECA. Domer is employed as a corrosion technician with TransCanada Pipeline. He owns and operates RD’s Seawalls & Sidewalks, Inc., and is involved with the LaGrange County Sheriff Department’s Merit Board, 4-H Shooting Sports and several outdoor organizations. He and his wife, Tonya, have three children and three grandchildren.
