Operation Round Up awards local non-profits with grants to support the work they do in the community. The Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up board awarded $4,250 to the following organizations:

Heartland Artists, Inc. received funding to assist with the cost to cover expenses for musical performers to ensure that the festival will remain free to attend. Heartland Artists promotes and supports the visual arts in Marshall County and surrounding areas by providing opportunities for artists to showcase their work, offering educational programs, and organizing events like exhibitions, performances, and festivals.

La Voz Unida received funding to assist with the cost of purchasing and distributing coloring books that promote peace and understanding of different cultures. La Voz Unida is a resource for local businesses and residents with translations and interpretations to help bridge communication.

Servants at Work received funding to assist with the cost of a new ramp for a low-income resident of Marshall County who needs it. Servants at Work constructs high-quality wooden ramps for disabled and low-income individuals to improve the quality of life for residents across Indiana.

The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to support worthy causes in the community and work together to help others. Thank you to those members who round up their electric bill to the next highest dollar each month and to the Marshall County Community Foundation for making these donations possible.

The next round of grants will be awarded in July. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service territory are eligible to apply. Organizations may be granted only once in a 12-month cycle. The organization does not have to be a member of Marshall County REMC. Applications are available at marshallremc.com.
