The Operation Round Up board awarded $5,000 to five organizations to support the work they do in the community.

99+1 From Ashes to Fire Revival Ministry received funding to assist with the cost of purchasing brochures and Bibles in preparation for the launch of their mobile outreach events. The ministry’s mission is to provide support, connection, and a path forward through outreach and faith-based encouragement to individuals battling addiction, mental health challenges, and life instability.

Argos High School’s Track and Field team received funding to purchase supplies and uniforms for their inaugural season. The team provides students with the opportunity to remain physically active while developing teamwork, leadership skills, discipline, and perseverance.

Integrity Kids Inc. received funding to help cover the cost of community meals for its 50 summer camp participants. Integrity Kids provides after-school care and youth development programming for children in Marshall County from kindergarten through high school.

Scouting America’s Lasalle Council received funding to help cover the cost of matched day-camp scholarships for Marshall County Scouts. Scouting America’s mission is to build character, citizenship, and leadership by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law through outdoor programs and experiential learning — developing the next generation of community-minded leaders, neighbors, and volunteers who give back to their communities.

The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Foundationreceived funding to help provide the unhoused in Marshall County with temporary lodging and necessities until they can attain a stable income and afford housing. The foundation contributes to healing the wounds of vulnerable people and planet Earth through a faith-based service to the community.

The Operation Round Up program allows Marshall County REMC members to support worthy community causes and work together to help others. Thank you to the members who round up their electric bills to the next highest dollar each month, and to the Marshall County Community Foundation for making these donations possible.

The next round of grants will be awarded in July. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service territory are eligible to apply. Organizations may be granted only once in a 12-month cycle. The organization does not have to be a member of Marshall County REMC. Applications are available at marshallremc.com/operation-round-up.
