Jasper County REMC was proud to help sponsor the charger for Rensselaer School Corporation’s new electric bus — the first electric bus in the county. Recently retired Marketing and Member Services Manager Stephanie Johnson thanked the school corporation at their ribbon cutting for the opportunity to serve REMC members who have children who will utilize the new bus.

The bus was acquired through the Volkswagen Mitigation Trust program and the bus it replaced was decommissioned and donated to the Rensselaer Volunteer Fire Department training center for rescue and response training.
