Holiday greetings to all the members of Harrison REMC! I hope that all of you enjoy and truly feel the spirit of the season.

This time of year is a good occasion to relax and join in the celebrations with family and friends.  Whatever you do, I hope you have a wonderful time with many special memories to last a lifetime! Here is a short recap of some highlights from 2016.

Thank you!

I want to thank all of you who contributed last year and those who are contributing this year to our Lend a Hand program. With generous contributions, we were able to pass that money along to various community agencies to help members with their electric bills in Harrison, Floyd, Washington, Clark and Crawford counties.

If you are interested in contributing in 2017, check out the form here or on page 5 of the December issue of Electric Consumer. All members received an insert in either their November or December bill.

Capital Credit checks

This year, the board of directors approved paying capital credits in the amount of $1 million for patronage allocated in the remainder of 1978 and a portion of 1979.  This is one of the many features of being a member-owner of an electric cooperative.  These credits are allocated annually and then refunded depending on the financial health of the REMC.

We believe this is just one of the cooperative differences that makes serving you and our communities a pleasure.

goodbye and hello

This year has been a year of employee retirements and bringing on new employees. Due to both employee departures and retirements, Harrison REMC has hired six new employees this year. These individuals have appeared in various issues of Electric Consumer throughout the year. We are excited having new members on our team!

Lastly, Harrison REMC’s board of directors and employees hope you and your family experience a happy holiday season and a wonderful new year!
