Orange County REMC’s Stacy Slaten presents Electric Consumer’s Readers’ Choice Awards for best girl’s getaway to Tessa Higgs and Elle Humbert of French Lick Resort. The “Best of Indiana” awards highlight the unique businesses, places, culture and countryside that make residents proud to call Indiana “home.”

Electric Consumer, the monthly publication of Orange County REMC and Indiana’s electric cooperatives, recognized businesses and attractions throughout the state in its “Best of Indiana” contest. The magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards allowed readers to vote in six categories.

Contest categories included Indiana’s best antique store, fried chicken, guys’ getaway and girls’ getaway. In the latter category, Orange County’s French Lick Resorts, featuring French Lick Resort and West Baden Springs Hotel, was recognized as the “2018 Best Girls’ Getaway” in Indiana.

The resort communities of French Lick and West Baden have been welcoming guests for over 100 years. Electric Consumer readers were impressed by the resorts’ pampering spas, variety of restaurants and activities for gal pals who need a weekend to themselves. Last year, the magazine’s readers named French Lick Resorts as best weekend getaway.
