Utility receipts tax repealed

Beginning July 1, Hoosiers no longer have to pay the utility receipts tax. This tax elimination will annually put an estimated $28.5 million back in the pockets of 1.3 million Hoosiers served by the state’s 38 electric cooperatives. Utility receipts tax repealed

The Indiana Legislature repealed the Utility Receipts Tax, effective July 1. This tax was a cost that we were required to collect as part of our rate and then pay to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Effective for bills issued after July 6, we have reduced electric rates by approximately 1.4% to reflect this repeal.
