Enroll in autopay for ease of mind

It’s happened to all of us.

In the rush of life and deadlines, we get the call or email alerting us we’ve missed a bill payment.

Luckily, it’s an issue that can be easily solved through LaGrange County REMC’s auto pay program.

While the cooperative has provided the option for those with monthly billing for years, members with prepaid metering weren’t able to take part – until now.

The expansion of the program is an opportunity for easier maintenance of your account, as well as to ease your mind that the bill is paid on time every month.

With the ability to sign up online or in person, auto pay for monthly billing can be set up to withdraw the payment each month from either a checking account, savings account, credit card or debit card. You’ll continue to receive a bill to review, but it will state “to be paid by draft” in the due date line.

It’s as simple as that.

For those on prepaid metering, the process can be completed in a few minutes through our website or on the mobile app.

You can enroll under the payments tab, where you will establish your “prepay threshold” and “prepay amount.” These numbers outline at what point you would like a payment withdrawn and how much should be withdrawn, and can be updated or changed at any time as circumstances change.

For example, if you would like your auto payment to always be $100 when your balance gets below $30, then you’d set your threshold at $30 and your amount at $100.

With auto pay, there are no more worries about late fees, penalties or delinquent notices, as long as the bank or card information is up-to-date.

Those interested in benefiting from the efficiency and ease of auto pay, whether through standard or prepaid metering, are encouraged to email customerservice@lagrangeremc.com or call the office for more information and a step-by-step breakdown of how to enroll in the program.
