As we reach the end of 2022, I appreciate the opportunity to reflect on the year that’s almost gone and the new one to come. LaGrange County REMC takes pride in our efforts to overcome challenges as well as grow a new community-changing service as we serve you, our members.

We’ve seen our crews head out after storms to restore power time and time again. Weather can be unpredictable, but our members know they can count on our lineworkers to make repairs as soon as storms pass. We appreciate your continued patience and communication in those situations as we work to get your lights back on as quickly as possible.

This past year, we’ve also seen hundreds of miles of fiber optic cable installed as we prepare to welcome new internet customers. In early October, we announced the beginning of the construction phase that has crews burying cables needed to connect homes and businesses to the larger network. This effort will allow us to offer a level of connectivity to rural Indiana typically available only in urban areas.

Building a world-class network, however, isn’t enough. Our enhanced control and security options, ExperienceIQ and ProtectIQ, allow those who use our internet service to customize access to their networks and automatically block viruses or malware. With this level of protection, our members can use their service with peace of mind.

I look forward to seeing those fiber installations continue as we make it possible for more and more of you to enjoy the power of high-speed internet. Without our service, a significant number of people would not be able to work at home, enjoy uninterrupted, streamed content or so many other benefits of this blazing-fast internet service.

I’d also like to recognize our new and existing office employees for their outstanding service. When you call to notify us of a power outage or ask an internet service question, it’s these dedicated teams that attend to your needs.

And those storms? Yes, they’ll keep coming, but our electric system, robust from years of planning and right-of-way work, will keep standing up to Mother Nature. Our dedicated lineworkers and office staff will remain available when you need them.

And remember, it’s not only our employees that keep us humming along year after year. Our success depends heavily on our members, too. We appreciate your support, and we encourage you to reach out anytime you need us this year.
