The last month has  been a roller coaster of events for our community, our state and our nation.

We know this whole situation has created many frustrations and disruptions to daily schedules in schools, businesses and households. As of press time for this publication, the REMC lobby is still closed to the public but we want to remind our members that our employees are still working for them to keep the lights on, and respond as quickly as possible to outages.

Our employees are working on rotating shifts and working remotely when possible. You can still call our office during business hours to speak with a member service representative who can handle your questions. Just call 812-865-2229 or toll free, 888-337-5900. You can also send us an email by going to our website, myremc.coop and clicking “Contact Us” at the top of the page. If you prefer to communicate via mobile device, you can download the SmartHub App and communicate with us that way.

In an effort to make paying your bill as easy as possible, we also have several remote payment options. Payments can still be made by check and mailed to P.O. Box 208, Orleans, IN  47452. If you want to save on postage, we have a night deposit box near our office drive through where payments can be dropped off. Members can also pay by phone any time of the day by calling 833- 890-7734 or our SmartHub app can be used to get account information and pay online. The SmartHub portal can also be accessed through our website.

This might also be a good time to consider signing up for our EZ Power Pay program, that allows members to have the amount of their electric bill automatically deducted from their designated bank account each month. Please visit www.myremc.coop and look under “Member Services” for more details about all these bill payment options.

Due to the financial hardship many of our members are experiencing during this time, I also want to note that your REMC is suspending account disconnects and late fees until May 6. If you are having difficulty paying your bill, please call our office and we will be happy to work with you in making payment arrangements.

In closing, I also want to encourage you to support local businesses any way you can. Let’s help each other as much as possible during this challenging time.
