Operation Round Up makes four grants to local groups

Brotherhood of Professional Police Officers and Emergency Services received a $1,000 Operation Round Up grant to assist with providing $85 gift cards to needy Marshall County senior citizens for groceries and medicine.

The Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up board awarded $3,000 to the following local organizations on Oct. 23.

Brotherhood of Professional Police Officers and Emergency Services received funding to help provide needy Marshall County senior citizens with an $85 gift card to be used locally for groceries or medicine. This program will be done at Christmastime in conjunction with the annual Shop With A Cop program.

Community Destination Imagination will fund an informational sign at the Early Bourbon Cemetery with its grant. Community Destination Imagination is a group of students who have been working to improve the cemetery by adding a monument stone with the names of the deceased buried there.

Discover Plymouth’s grant will help fund the development of the Discover Plymouth website. Discover Plymouth is a group of community members and business leaders dedicated to creating a vibrant downtown by enhancing and promoting growth and supporting local businesses. The quality of life for our community is strengthened by their efforts.

Potawatomi Park Inc. received funding to help purchase a vehicle and trail counter to collect important attendance and traffic data. Potawatomi Park offers a space where the community can enjoy the solitude of nature, commune with wildlife and understand local history.
