Because of the co-op’s commitment to safety, Harrison REMC celebrated zero lost-time hours or injuries for the second consecutive year.

Operations Construction Manager Jim Walter congratulates the Harrison REMC team for zero lost time work hours in 2016 (the second consecutive year).

“The potentially dangerous nature of the job proves this is an accomplishment achieved by a commitment to safety, both on a personal level as well as in a team environment,” Walter said.

Indiana Electric Cooperatives and Hoosier Energy provide REMC personnel safety training that covers a wide range of subjects, which includes the following:

  • Pole top and bucket truck rescue;
  • CPR, AED and first aid training;
  • Hazard recognition;
  • Personal protective equipment; and
  • Substation training and meter safety.
