Utility receipts tax repealed

Beginning July 1, Hoosiers no longer have to pay the utility receipts tax. This tax elimination will annually put an estimated $28.5 million back in the pockets of 1.3 million Hoosiers served by the state’s 38 electric cooperatives.  Orange County REMC consumers alone will save an estimated $241,329  annually from the repeal of this tax…. Local students attend unique camp

Orange County REMC sponsored, from left, Sydney Flynn and Faith Edwards at the annual Camp Kilowatt. The camp was held June 8-11, at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana.  Students entering seventh grade this fall were eligible to attend and were selected by their local cooperative to participate in the four-day program.
