REMC linemen assist with sirens in area

The Marshall County REMC linemen assisted Walnut Township by installing six 55-foot poles. These poles will have tornado sirens installed in June. The poles were strategically placed around the township to ensure coverage. This will allow the proper warning in case of an emergency. Six local high school seniors were the recipients of the Kankakee Valley REMC Operation Round Up scholarships totaling $8,000. Utility receipts tax repealed

Beginning July 1, Hoosiers no longer have to pay the utility receipts tax. This tax elimination will annually put an estimated $28.5 million back in the pockets of 1.3 million Hoosiers served by the state’s 38 electric cooperatives.
