Betsy Carman with her husband, Casey, and son Gavin
Betsy Carman of Cutler is the newest member of the Carroll White REMC Operation Round Up board of trustees. She joins other board members Kathy Zink, Candy Byers, Jeff Lowry, Paula Westfall, Brent Gady, and Kenny Robertson. These volunteers meet quarterly to distribute funds to area non-profit organizations in the CW REMC service territory.
A native of Carroll County, Carman is a graduate of Carroll High School and Indiana Business College. “I have had many jobs over the years, but my favorite is my current one … working our family farm,” Carman said. In 2003, she and her husband, Casey, built their home in the REMC service territory and became members.
Carman was approached to serve on the Operation Round Up board of trustees through a connection with her husband’s cousin, Kristin Arnett. “She asked me if I would be interested in serving and she made it sound very appealing to be able to help members of our community,” reflected Carman.
“I want Carroll White REMC members to know I appreciate this opportunity,” Carman said. She promised to do her best to help those who apply for Operation Round Up grants. “I think kindness and compassion are what I bring to the board table,” Carman said. “I have a heart for kids, dogs, and farming, to name just a few of my passions.”
In addition to serving on the Operation Round Up board, Carman is a member of Crossroads Community Christian Church where she serves on the mission committee and preschool board. She is also secretary for Carroll County Religious Education.
