Do you want to level out your bill?  Harrison REMC offers budget billing programs to help members avoid seasonal swings in billing amounts.  There is no additional charge for these programs and members can choose from these two options:

  • Average Budget Billing allows the member to receive a bill each month that is calculated on the account’s average electric use.  For this plan, the monthly amount due is the average of the previous 12 months of actual use. As a result, the monthly amount due will vary. However, the averaging of 12 months of actual use tends to drastically reduce seasonal variations of the monthly bill amount.
  • Fixed Budget Billing allows the member to pay the same amount for 11 months. On the 12th month, the account is billed or credited for the accumulated budget balance difference that has developed over the 12-month period. The fixed amount is based on the electric account’s use revenue for the previous twelve months.

Members must reside in the residence for 12 months to be eligible for these programs and must not have a past due balance upon starting the program.

When you request to be added to a budget program, we will automatically enroll you. You can call anytime to be removed from this program. If you do request to be removed from the program, you will not be eligible to re-enroll for a year and will be required to pay any difference owed upon removal. Call the office at 812-738-4115 and speak with a member service representative if you are interested.
