After 24 years of being one of the premiere energy advisors in Indiana and the Louisville metro area, Bob Geswein retired at the beginning of this year. Through the years, Geswein has been a driving force in the Touchstone Energy Home Program, which promotes building energy-efficient homes. From 2004 through 2018, Hoosier Energy and its 17 other cooperatives took part in building 480 homes that met the high standards of the Touchstone Energy Program. Of those homes, 123 are in the Harrison REMC service territory.

Geswein, a Purdue graduate and former Army Sgt. First Class, came to work at the REMC after a 12-year stint with Becht Heating and Cooling. He also teaches continuing builder education classes for builders in southern Indiana and is active in the Home Builders Association. Geswein is an active collector of International Harvester memorabilia and tractors, works as a tractor pull announcer, loves a good cigar, and is serving his first year as an Indiana Farm Bureau director.

Geswein helped make Harrison REMC “the go-to place” for energy efficiency advice.

We all wish him a wonderful retirement!
