In an effort to keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the Oct. 27 board meeting. 

1. All directors were in attendance along with President/CEO Steve Seibert, Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton and Manager of Finance and Accounting Amy Ramsey. 

2. The Sept. 29 board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

3. The membership certificates were reviewed.

4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.

5. The directors’ report was reviewed and approved.

6. Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC.

7. As the first item of new business, the board approved the IRS Form 990 as presented by Ramsey.

8. The CEO report was presented with Seibert reporting the following items:

a. Seibert informed the board the cooperative continues to monitor local COVID data.

b. Seibert discussed Hoosier Energy’s wholesale power cost tracker information.

c. Seibert reviewed upcoming management team meeting attendance.

d. Seibert informed directors of a recent outage on the Rose Hill substation.

e. Seibert reviewed the following upcoming meeting dates: IEC legislative dinner Nov. 15 and IEC Annual Meeting Dec. 6-7. 

9. Greg Pemberton, safety and risk management instructor with Indiana Electric Cooperatives, conducted basic metering, meter safety and transformer safety backfeed training on Sept. 29. Adam Lock, safety and risk management instructor at IEC, conducted URD switching and URD grounding safety training on Oct. 19. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents, and no public liability claims to report.

10. The board approved a 2022 corporate sponsorship to United Way.

11. Director Gary Waninger reported on an Operation Round Up trustees meeting held on Oct. 20. Five grant applications totaling $15,891 were approved for funding.

12. Director G. Waninger reported on a Hoosier Energy board meeting held Oct. 11.

13. Director Randy Kleaving reported on an Indiana Electric Cooperatives board meeting held Oct. 20.  

14. Director training information was presented to the board.

15. The cooperative received a thank you note from St. Meinrad Rocks.

16. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.
