Each year, Jay County REMC is excited to shine a spotlight on our youth programs and the community members who participate in them.

Jay County REMC sponsors programs to help middle and high school students learn more about energy, the cooperative business model, history, government, and much more. Below are the youth programs offered. Please go to JayREMC.com to apply or learn more.

COOPERATIVE STUDENT ART CONTEST

Indiana Electric Cooperatives invites K-12 students across the state to showcase their creativity in the Cooperative Student Art Contest! Winners will receive cash prizes and have their artwork celebrated across the state. Whether you love painting, drawing, or mixed media, this is your chance to let your imagination shine!

CAMP KILOWATT

Spend four fun-filled days at Camp Kilowatt learning about energy while making new friends, horseback riding, ziplining, swimming, canoeing, and more! This year’s camp is changing locations to Happy Hollow Children’s Camp in Nashville, Indiana. Camp Kilowatt is available to students completing sixth grade in 2026. Priority will be given to students whose parents or guardians receive electricity from an Indiana electric cooperative. Camp Kilowatt will take place July 26-29.

2026 INDIANA YOUTH TOUR

Indiana’s electric cooperatives sponsor a week-long, all-inclusive trip to Washington, D.C. The trip will take place from June 14 to 21. It is open to current high school juniors whose parents/guardians are served by Jay County REMC. This trip includes visits to historic sites, meetings with Indiana congressional leaders, and a youth event featuring other students from around the country.
