The chance of rain and storms affected the attendance at the 80th Harrison REMC annual meeting on April 3.

Attendance was down, with approximately 720 registered members in attendance.  Those attending enjoyed music by Corydon LIVE! Informational booths were provided by Hoosier Energy, Harrison REMC and Indiana Electric Cooperatives. Harrison County Hospital was also on hand to offer blood pressure screenings. Each membership received a $15 bill credit and an 80th anniversary book on the history of the co-op.

Members who attended the annual meeting received a $15 bill credit and a book on the co-op’s history.

Districts 1, 8 and 9 were up for election this year. No opposing candidate petitions were received for any of the districts. Voting was done by acclamation, and the following directors were re-elected for a three-year term.

  • District 1: David Poe
  • District 8: Danny Wiseman
  • District 9: Roy Zimmerman

Members watched a video that highlighted the co-op’s 80th anniversary, and I also highlighted some of the milestones in the 80-year history of the cooperative.

As always, I want to thank those who were able to attend the meeting. We look forward to seeing you next year.
