Camp Kilowatt

Camp Kilowatt features many typical camp activities like horseback riding, zip lines, high-ropes, swimming and archery, but also adds electrical safety demonstrations, environmental education, and cooperative business education.

Nautica Purkhiser of French Lick and Katie Edwards of Campbellsburg were sponsored by Orange County REMC to attend Camp Kilowatt. The camp was held June 4-7 at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston. More than 90 campers representing 28 Indiana electric cooperatives attended the event, along with chaperones from local co-ops.
Indiana Youth Tour

Mckenzie Radcliff of Orleans and Matthew Woolsey of French Lick were sponsored by Orange County REMC to participate in the Indiana Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., on June 15-23. Each summer, electric co-ops select students who will be entering their senior year in the fall to attend this unique experience. Students toured the National Mall memorials, visited with representatives on Capitol Hill, enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Potomac River and attended an all-states youth rally.

Indiana delgates on the 2025 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., watch the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetary. Students had the opportunity to visit the Flight 93 Memorial, Gettysburg Battlefield, National Museum of the Marine Corps, Smithsonian museums and many other sites during the tour.
