The Oxford Dictionary defines efficiency as the state or quality of being efficient, an action designed to achieve efficiency. The technical definition reads, The ratio of the useful work performed by a machine or in a process to the total energy expended or heat taken in.

Carroll White REMC is very excited to announce that our Partnership for Efficiency program just got better, said Joe Spear, Carroll White REMC energy solutions coordinator.

Effective immediately, individual and business members can apply for efficiency loans up to $50,000 for 10 years at 3%, said Spear. By increasing the loan amount available, REMC hopes that more members will see the benefit in utilizing this program.

Partnership for Efficiency is a program available through the Rural Energy Savings Program (RESP). It provides loans to rural utilities, such as REMC, which in turn provides energy efficiency loans to qualified members to implement cost-effective energy efficiency measures.

Congress authorized the Rural Energy Program in the 2014 Farm Bill to help build a cleaner and more sustainable domestic energy sector for future generations.

Energy efficiency isnt just about going green its also a great way to save your household money and make your home a little cozier, said Spear. Unfortunately, not every energy leak is as obvious as an open window.

We can help you identify ways you might be losing energy and save money, provide a professional opinion on how you can improve efficiency, and point you toward programs and incentives that can help you get them done, said Spear.

The first step in any energy efficiency project is to contact our Energy Advisor, Quinton Randle. He will conduct an energy audit at no cost to members.

Now is the time to take that first step, said Spear. The resources available to members are too good to pass up. Make efficiency a word that you embrace.

You will enjoy cost savings and do your part in conserving that valuable commodity electricity.

2. Members fill out the application.

3. A credit check is done, which will determine the amount of the loan a member is eligible to receive.

4. Upon approval, the member chooses the licensed contractor to perform the work.

5. After the work is completed, the member contacts our energy advisor to perform another energy audit to validate that the energy efficiency was achieved.

6. Carroll White REMC receives the invoice from the licensed contractor and pays for the work completed.

7. Carroll White REMC begins adding the monthly loan charge to your electric bill.
