Fiber Optic Internet: Construction Update

The map above is color-coded to represent the different phases of the Orange County Fiber high-speed internet project. Listed below are more detailed statistics on the construction progress as of March 12:

  • Crews are currently working in the areas near Hardinsburg and Campbellsburg. 
  • Approximately 900 miles of fiber is now up.
  • Approximately 3,600 drops have been installed to homes.
  • Over 3,000 members are connected and using the new high-speed internet service.

Phase I – COMPLETE (noted by the light blue in the map below)

Phase II – COMPLETE (noted by the medium blue in the map below)

Phase III – Current Construction (noted by the dart blue in the map below):

  1. Make Ready Complete. Mainline construction began in March. Estimated completion in May. Splicing and testing to follow. Service installs to begin in June.
  2. Mainline construction complete. Currently constructing drops. Service installs to begin in April.
  3. Ready for service installs/currently installing.
  4. Ready for service installs/currently installing.
