At Boone Power, we believe investing in young people helps strengthen the communities we serve. That’s why we offer several opportunities for students to learn and grow.

Page Day gives Indiana high school students a behind-the-scenes look at state government. Students visit the Indiana Statehouse, participate in a mock bill activity, and see the legislative process in action.

Wired to Create Student Art Contest invites K–12 students to submit artwork that shows what keeps Indiana moving forward, through the people, places, industries, and communities that power our state. Each grade level winner receives $300 and statewide recognition.

Camp Kilowatt offers incoming seventh-graders a summer camp experience with an electric cooperative twist. In addition to traditional camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, and ziplining, campers learn about electrical safety and the cooperative business model.

Youth Tour takes incoming high school seniors to Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid week-long experience in June. Students visit historic sites and monuments, tour Gettysburg and the Flight 93 memorial, experience the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery, and meet with Indiana’s congressional delegation.

Scholarships provide financial support to students pursuing higher education. Boone Power provides 10 – $1,000 scholarships to help students continue their education.
