In January, the Operation Round Up board awarded three local organizations grants: David’s Courage, Dustin’s Place and the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michigan.
Dustin’s Place received $3,200 which will be used to help train and certify a therapy dog to safely and appropriately participate in their biweekly evening grief support groups. Through biweekly gatherings, in-school peer groups, and summer camp, Dustin’s Place provides free-of-cost grief support to families experiencing loss.
David’s Courage will use its $300 grant to help create a safe, healthy and positive space where men in recovery can build relationships, unwind and strengthen sober habits. David’s Courage’s mission is to have a lasting change of spiritual, emotional, physical and financial health of those who are struggling with addiction.
Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michigan received $500 to support the programs and activities that its members participate in to build fundamental skills. The mission of the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michigan is to build courage, confidence and character in girls as they make the world a better place.
