President and CEO
It’s a new year! As 2026 rolls in and we begin work on a new set of goals, our core mission remains the same. We strive to provide our members and the community with reliable and sustainable energy. Every decision we make remains centered around our core cooperative principles, including Concern for Community. As we begin to look ahead, we want to take a moment to reflect on how we continued to fulfill our mission in 2025.
Last year, our subsidiary fiber internet company, Kosciusko Connect, expanded its service to Leesburg and Claypool. We are grateful for how our community has embraced Kosciusko Connect and made this growth possible.
Kosciusko REMC’s Annual Meeting broke a new attendance record for the second year in a row, with an estimated crowd of 3,306 and 1,828 votes cast in the board of directors’ election. This is our members’ biggest chance to have a hand in the future of our cooperative, and it is encouraging to see so many in our community engaging in this opportunity.
This year presented many opportunities to invest in the local community. This included Live Line Demo field trips for local schools, presenting at Camp Hero, Family Safety Day, Madison Elementary School’s Career Day, facilitating the Claypool Elementary Pumpkin Drop, assisting with JobSpark in Fort Wayne, giving out water at the Kosciusko County Fair, and hosting Member Appreciation Day. Additionally, we volunteered at Combined Community Services for our Annual Community Day. Educating our community on electric safety and supporting these community events is a vital pillar of what we do here at KREMC.
We are grateful to our members who have made these highlights of 2025 possible and look forward to what the next year brings our way.
Let’s have another bright year together!
