As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a year that tested our resilience and reminded us what it truly means to be part of a cooperative community.

This spring, our system faced an unprecedented challenge when two tornadoes struck Marshall County within a span of just three days. The damage was significant, leaving many of our members without power and large portions of our infrastructure in need of repair. Yet in the midst of that hardship, we witnessed the best of what the cooperative spirit represents. With help from our neighboring co-ops — Heartland, Jay County, Miami-Cass, Northeastern, and Fulton County REMCs — our crews worked tirelessly to restore power to all members within three days after each storm. Their dedication and teamwork were truly inspiring.

Beyond those challenges, 2025 was also a year of milestones. We welcomed new team members, celebrated service anniversaries of longtime employees, connected hundreds of new fiber customers through Marshall County Fiber, and saw record member participation in our director election — a clear sign of strong engagement and pride in your cooperative. Through Operation Round Up, members also helped us give back in a big way: just over $20,000 was granted to 19 local organizations of the 30 that applied this year, further strengthening the communities we serve.

Through every high and low, one thing remains constant: our commitment to serving you, our members, with reliability, transparency, and care.

Next year marks a remarkable milestone — 90 years since Marshall County REMC was incorporated in 1936. We’re excited to celebrate this historic occasion with you and have some special things planned as we honor our past and look toward the future. Stay tuned for what’s to come in 2026 — we can’t wait to share it with you.
