Applications for this years lineup of youth programs open on Nov. 1! We believe the future of our community rests with our youth, and we are committed to investing in them by providing these opportunities to learn about electrical safety, energy, the electric cooperative model, history, government, and leadership. If you have a student eligible for one or more of these programs, we encourage you to apply!

PAGE DAY

Page day is Jan. 27, 2026. During Page Day, students explore the Statehouse, step into the role of

a lawmaker through a mock bill activity, hear from inspiring government leaders, and connect face-to-face with their state legislators. Students also get an inside look at how laws are made and the role citizens play in the democratic process. The program is open to high school students who can provide their own transportation to and from the Statehouse. The application deadline is Jan. 9.

CAMP KILOWATT

Camp Kilowatt is a fun and unique camp experience for sixth-grade students entering seventh grade across Indiana.

In 2026, camp will take place June 3-6 at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana. Kids will learn more about energy while making new friends and enjoying fun activities and games. The application deadline is Feb. 13.

YOUTH TOUR TO WASHINGTON, D. C.

Each June, Indiana’s electric cooperatives sponsor an all-expenses-paid leadership experience to Washington, D. C., for high school students entering their senior year. The trip will take place from June 14-26, 2026. Selected students spend seven unforgettable days exploring historic monuments and world-class museums, meeting Indiana’s congressional delegation on Capitol Hill, and connecting with young leaders from across the country. Sponsored entirely by their local electric cooperative, participants not only gain a deeper understanding of American history and government but also return home with new friendships, stronger leadership skills, and memories that last a lifetime. The application deadline is Feb. 13.

STUDENT ART CONTEST

Indiana Electric Cooperatives Student Art Contest is open to all K-12 students who want to showcase their artistic talents. A first-place artist will be selected for each grade level, and each winner will receive a $100 prize. Honorable mentions will also be selected and awarded $50 each. Winning artwork may be featured in Indiana Connection and displayed at the IEC annual meeting in Indianapolis. Artwork must be submitted by Feb. 27.
