2025 Annual Meeting minutes

The Annual Meeting of the members of the Decatur County Rural Electric Membership Corporation was held at the Greensburg Elementary School, Greensburg, Indiana, on June 13, 2025, with activities from 4 to 7 p.m. and a business meeting following at 7 p.m. Members were welcomed, then all rose for the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a moment of silence followed by recognition for all military veterans and current service men and women. Decatur County REMC Scholarships were awarded to three students. The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Steve AmRhein, and Secretary, Steve Nobbe, kept the minutes.

A total of 1,325 member ballots were cast. Members being at least 2% of all the members of the Corporation, a quorum of the members was met.

Decatur County REMC employees were recognized and thanked for their dedication to the members and mission of the organization.

The Secretary read the notice of the meeting together with the proof of mailing thereof to all the members of the corporation; and such notice was included with the minutes of the Annual Meeting of the members.

The Annual Report, which included the Treasurer’s Report, was mailed to each member.

Upon motion properly made and carried, the minutes of the Annual Meeting of the members held June 14, 2024, were approved as printed in the Annual Report.

Chairman, Steve AmRhein, then turned the meeting over to CEO, Brett Abplanalp, to report to the membership on the activities at Decatur County REMC for the year 2024, which included the launch of PowerStream Fiber. 

Under the direction of Attorney Robert Wickens and Survey and Ballot Systems the voting process was followed and certified. 

Attorney Robert Wickens reported the election results for the director and nominating committee members, stating that the following members had been duly elected to hold office for the specified terms, or until their successor has been elected and qualified:

Directors:

Suzanne Parmer, District 1

Carl Riedeman, District 2

Nominating Committee:

Jaimie Meyer, District 3

Joseph Diekhoff, District 6

A $10 credit will be given to members who registered at the meeting. 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
