As summer approaches, I want to begin this months column by thanking everyone who joined us for our Meet the Candidates event in May. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our membership, answer questions, and celebrate the cooperative difference that makes Henry County REMC unique. We sincerely hope you had a great time engaging with fellow members and cooperative leadership.

While our board election this year does not include any contested races, I want to encourage all members to participate in the annual ratification process. Voting is a vital part of the cooperatives democratic structure, and your participation helps ensure transparency, accountability, and a strong future for HCREMC. Members can easily vote through the SmartHub app or find more details in this issue of Indiana Connection.

Engagement doesnt end with voting. Staying informed about legislative issues that affect your electric service is another powerful way to support your cooperative. Through Indiana Electric Cooperatives grassroots initiatives, members like you have a voice in shaping policies that impact our local energy future. In this issue, you will find more information about these efforts, including highlights from my recent trip to the NRECA Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. It was a privilege to represent HCREMC and advocate on behalf of our members at the national level.

Lastly, to all the incredible fathers in our membership, happy Fathers Day! We hope you enjoy this special time with the ones you love most.
