Ways to lend a helping hand

October is here! Cooler temperatures will be here soon, fall festivals are in full swing, and my personal favorite: everywhere you turn there’s
a pumpkin-spiced treat!

But at Clark County REMC, October means we are celebrating Co-op Month. Every October we put a special emphasis on giving back to our community because we wouldn’t exist without you, our member-owners. Here are some of the ways we will be celebrating:

On Oct. 14, REMC employees will spend a day serving at Tunnel Mill Scout Reservation in Charlestown. From clearing trails to refurbishing picnic tables to felling hazardous trees, we want to give back to those who are working to make our communities stronger.

Every Friday in October, we’re cooking out from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Just pull up in your car and we’ll hand you a free REMC sack lunch, just to say thank you!

Any day during October, November or December, bring in six canned/non-perishable goods and we will exchange that for a Smart Energy kit, with an LED night light, a wall plate thermometer, and Wi-fi-enabled lightbulb and outlet (while supplies last).

And let’s not forget about how you can help your community. For the last two years, REMC members have donated to our Lend-A-Hand program, which helps those who may be struggling to pay their electric bills. To date, more than $30,000 has been donated! As we come into colder months, we know the need will increase, so if you would like to make a small donation to help your neighbor, please visit clarkremc.coop/lend-a-hand or give us a call.
