As a cooperative, we are owned by you, our members. And as our owners, you should know why our rates are Increasing, and how it will help you and your community.

What this rate adjustment will help fund:

• Upgrading all electric meters for increased security, reliability, and features

• Additional vegetation clearing and right-of-way management for improved reliability

• Equipment additions and upgrades to improve outage restoration time and reduce outage Incidents from aging Infrastructure

• More investment in programs and community involvement for greater member safety and satisfaction

• Maintaining a strong financial position to meet challenges as they come

What this rate adjustment is NOT paying for:

• New or expanded REMC facilities: While a future expansion is certain, we are a few years away from that reality.

• Large commercial or data center business costs: Nearly all upgrades required to serve an incoming business are paid by that business, not by other REMC members.

• Profit for investors: REMC is a not-for-profit organization, owned by the people we serve in southern Indiana.
