Lineworkers

If you were asked to associate an image or person with Kankakee Valley REMC, you would probably picture a lineworker. Some of the most visible employees of the co-op are the lineworkers who tirelessly ensure that our community is safe and that the power is flowing.

Being a lineworker is not necessarily a glamorous or easy profession. It takes years of specialized training, ongoing education, dedication and equally important, a sense of service and commitment. That is why on April 12, we celebrate and recognize the 11 Kankakee Valley REMC lineworkers and the team of 11 groundmen and machine operators who support the operations and work around the clock to keep your lights on.

While lineworkers may be the most visible employees at the co-op, there is a team of highly skilled professionals working behind the scenes to support the lineworkers. These include engineers, customer service representatives, information technology experts, accountants, marketing professionals, warehousemen, a mechanic, facility managers, human resources and more. It is these individuals who work together to ensure we can deliver the service and reliability you expect and deserve.

Our dedicated lineworkers are proud to represent your cooperative and deserve the appreciation and accolades that come their way on Lineworker Appreciation Day. So, on April 12, and anytime you see lineworkers, take a moment to thank them for their service. Also, take a moment to remember the many dedicated professionals working behind the scenes who are also committed to serving you.
