Many of our members will remember the little red S10s that our meter readers drove to get the readings every month. Meter readers had to walk to each meter and write down the readings. As technology advanced, they drove by the meters and pulled in the readings to their hand-held devices. Now, the days of meter readers have come to an end with the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) system.

This is just the beginning of Tammy Wise’s story at Steuben County REMC. She started as a meter reader in 1990. When the AMI system was implemented, she moved to the front office as one of our member service representatives.

With each of her positions, she has always had a friendly connection with the membership and tried to do what she could to help the member while adhering to the policies of the REMC.

Tammy, we will miss you and wish you all the enjoyment in your retirement. Thank you for your 32 years of commitment.
