This past fall South Spencer High School completed a two-year long renovation project.

During this project, all of the existing HVAC equipment was replaced and exchanged with energy-efficient, rooftop HVAC units that sit above each individual classroom. This allows each teacher the ability to control the temperature in each classroom.

LED lighting also replaced traditional fluorescent bulbs throughout the building. This benefits both students and teachers.

By converting these features to energy-efficient fixtures and units, South Spencer was able to take advantage of Hoosier Energy’s commercial and industrial incentive program, which partners with Southern Indiana Power to provide opportunities to save. Making these changes will help South Spencer achieve energy savings year after year.
