Southern Indiana Powers linemen showcased their skills at the recent Indiana Electric Cooperative Lineman Rodeo, where Travis Goffinet, Clint Heeke, Jimmy Applegate, and Max Rickelman proudly represented the co-op.

The team competed in the Hurt Man Rescue, Underarm Switch Changeout, Mystery Event, and Transformer Changeout. Individually, linemen tested their abilities in the Hurt Man Rescue, Skill Climb, Egg Climb, and Mutual Aid events.

Jimmy Applegate stood out by winning the Senior Division of the Egg Climb. Apprentice Lineman Max Rickelman also earned recognition, placing third in the Egg Climb.

Rickelman also demonstrated Cooperative Principle #6 Cooperation Among Cooperatives when he filled in for Dubois REC as a replacement after one of their linemen was called away, having worked through the night restoring power for their members.

The rodeo is more than a competition its an opportunity for linemen to sharpen their skills, network with peers, and learn from the best across the state.

This event allows our linemen to demonstrate their abilities while connecting with other co-op linemen, said Steve Fortwendel, Manager of Operations. Travis, Jimmy, Clint, and Maxs commitment was evident as they came in early to practice before work.

Their dedication reflects Southern Indiana Powers focus on workmanship and safety, ensuring our community is served by some of the best professionals in the field.
